When one night, Annalise Burke and her mother saw a stray kitten wandering outside her house, they found it a little strange. The family lives in a rural area of Idaho and usually doesn’t see cats wandering around the property. The next morning, they went out to look for the kitten and take her to the local humanitarian society-but instead, they found two little newborn kittens.
Unfortunately, one of the kittens did not survive, and the other was clearly very ill. While they wanted to wait to see if the mother would come back for the kitten, they also knew that the kitten desperately needed help, so they took her in while they waited for the mother to reappear. When they finally saw her again, they took them both and took them to the local humane society.
Burke and his mother returned home after leaving the two cats – and suddenly they heard faint meows coming from under their shed. Shocked, they began to dig and found a third kitten, covered in dirt and dirt, fighting for her life.
“She was alone in that place for at least eight hours,” Burke said. “We dug to get her out. Her face and mouth were covered with dirt and had dirt inside her throat. She was coughing a lot and panting.
